Nokia Life Tools
The project, targeted at rural and lower income Indians, required a validation for a prospective service and its visual design. I coordinated and conducted ethnographic studies in northern India around agro-based business cycles and lifestyles of rural Indian farmers, their patterns of mobile usage and visual documentation of their context. Recommendations were provided in comprehensive reports and design examples were provided for use case scenarios, service definitions, information architectures, icon designs and screenshot designs.
At a later stage, the project also required usability testing of its services, visual design and architecture in rural and informal urban location of various Asian, South East Asian and African countries. As a country specific researcher, I travelled to Indonesia and conducted on-field usability testing in collaboration with a CKS partner company.
